#2 Chula Exchange: Counting Down To The Last Few Days

Suddenly, everything felt so surreal. I only have a mere few days left in Singapore that I can count, even with one foot. Though kinda excited at what awaits me when I reach over there, but somehow, not seeing the ones I love for about 5 months or so, makes me sad :(

Furthermore, I have never been away from home for so long before. And this is gonna be my virgin 1st time, not seeing friends/family for so long. Guess I will have to get used to it; get used to missing people etc.

Well, thankfully, there is the Internet available in my residence that I will be staying in. It will be my lifeline to keeping in touch with those I missed. Oh man, seriously, what would one do if there's no Facebook, Twitter, Skype, Mail, Whatsapp, Line, Viber... :'(

Okay, I will be staying at Nonsi Residence! :) Pictures below!
Images taken from Nonsi Residence website, http://www.nonsiresidence.com

Looks not bad! Got swimming pool and gym! Hahaha, don't know whether I will use them anot haha!

Whenever I'm leaving on a plane for overseas, I'll think of this song - Leaving on a Jetplane.
Nice song! Got to know of this song from the movie, Armageddon. Super awesome movie too!

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leavin' on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

52 Reasons I Love You

Decided to make a handmade gift for someone special, so googled online for inspiration and found the "52 Reasons I Love You" deck of cards.

It's a rather sweet idea/gift, for your girlfriend/boyfriend/mummy/daddy/friends and whoever you love! :D

Of course, coming up with 52 reasons took quite some time and some braincells. 52 different and unique reasons, specifically tailored to the person. Certainly, you can find tons of reasons online and just do a copy-and-paste, but that would defeat the original purpose right? Best to think of some reasons yourself. :p

So, if you did a google search, there are actually a lot of tutorials online. Most of them includes punching holes at the side and attaching book rings at the side.

Anyway, the first step would be to do or find a template and print it out. You can do it via Powerpoint and the rectangles are 6cm by 4cm. Well, I searched online for super long to find a nice template, which is here: http://www.slideshare.net/carrieannwoody/52-reasons-i-love-you-blank. Hehe, I changed the fonts only and insert pictures into every rectangle. I prefer to have pictures + words hahaha. Nicer mah!

Printouts of the 52 reasons
I blurred the above picture on purpose :p I'm too shy to showcase the reasons and I believed that the reasons should only be seen by the eyes of the one and only :D

Yeah, the easier task was the printing. T.T Took some time to think and type in the reasons, add in relevant pictures, adjust the placing of words/pictures to make it nice nice. But well, think of how happy the person would feel receiving it made it worthwhile. :D

Finally cut out all of them. Looked like a mini deck of cards eh? And the cutting part wasn't easy as I thought due to the gap in between each rectangle was actually quite narrow! So spent some time on the cutting haha. Perhaps, to make it easier, should just shift the positions of the rectangles so that there are no gaps in between? Maybe it would be easier to cut.

Now, would be to stick it onto the deck of cards!

I stuck it onto a deck of normal Bicycle deck that I happened to have. :)
Can be any poker card deck too!

Next, I decided to use those trading card holders to slot the cards in. Haha, feeling abit lazy to punch holes for each of them. Coincidentally, managed to find this in Diaso IMM for just $2!
Can protect from the cards from wear and tear also! :p

Yay, done with the 52 Reasons I Love You cards! ^_^

Fruit Paradise

Dinner with Rebecca at Fruit Paradise at Plaza Singapura located at level four, it's near Aijsen Ramen, just that you have to walk all the way in! Apparently, it's part of the Ajisen family too.

Due to the name of the outlet, I initially thought that they served only fruits-related food? Hahaha.

But I was so so so WRONG.

Above picture is some cheese baked rice that I ordered. Looks yummy right!
And yes, I licked the bowl clean. :D

The pasta dish ordered by my friend. Yummylicious too! :D

Next, we decided to try out the Fruit Tarts that they have on display. As we are sitting near to the display, it was as if the fruit tarts were screaming at us to buy them. T.T

Looks more like cake instead of fruit tart right? Shouldn't it be round like egg tart? Haha.
Actually, YES THEY ARE.

They do sell in one big piece of fruit tart too! But it's quite big!
Per slice it's about 6 plus, which we ordered that time.

Chocolate Banana! Super love love this!
Gonna be in the list of one of my favorite fruit tarts! :)

I'm sinfully happy!

Weekend Genting Getaway

Went to Genting over the last weekend with my besties! Departed on Friday at about ten plus, close to eleven, at Golden Mile Complex. And yay, love the double decker Five Stars Tours coach! The experience was totally different as compared to ten years ago, when I went Genting with them. Now, their seats are comfy plus with massage, leg room is awesome and can watch movies or play games! Simply awesome!

Entertainment on the coach!
Friend playing Puzzle Bobble on the coach. Blurred due to moving coach :S

And so, we arrived there on the wee hours of the morning, about 5am! It's pretty cold, and while we just got down from the coach and making our way to the building, a cold gust of wind just whoosh by! Sending shivers down our entire body hahaha. And that's after a friend commented, "Where got cold?". What an irony! It's like the nature is answering him hahaha!

Near the hotel lobby, people asleep while waiting to check in in the morning
The empty row of counters :(
After asking around and queuing for a number to be called starting from 9AM, we went to McDonald's to chill. We have about FOUR hours to KILLLLLLL! GAHHH. :(

Breakfast at 5+ AM! Drinking the hot tea in a cold weather is so warming!

Monopoly Deal to kill time!
Finally, after what seemed like an eternal wait, the counter(s) are open! Slowly...

.
.
.
The result of waiting close to 2 hours...

Still not our turn yet! ;(

Our queue number is 140. Despite getting the number at 5am last night, it was still quite a large number. Lesson learnt: We should have bought express checkin, maybe the queue and waiting time will be much shorter!

Spotted a cute boy wearing a Tweety bird jacket! :D

Camwhoring bait while waitinggggg...

At last, we managed to check in at about 12.30pm! Gosh, what a long waittttttttt!

The room! Looks small but cozy and have everything you need ;) Not sure if there's air-con though, cos there was no controller for it. There was a hugeass fan overlooking the bed though. But amazingly, even without aircon (maybe), it was not hot. Probably cos of Genting's cool weather and all haha.

There's a safety deposit box too! Handy! :D
Proceeding to the theme park, spotted Statue of Liberty on a motorcycle!
Theme park in sight!
For the theme park, we purchased the unlimited indoor and outdoor rides for 1 day at RM66 per person.

View of First World Hotel from the outside
The Flying Coaster!
And no, we didn't pay extra for the Flying Coaster.
Just showed our wristband, probably now no need to pay extra? Hahaha

The Flying Coaster! Queued probably close to 2 hours for it. ;) It's really fun and heart thumping haha. There are no safety belts, only a metal gate behind your back, so relying on your hand grasp and feet. It's lying down, like superman kind. And there are two 360 degrees turns! Both my hands and feet gripped on damn tightly HAHAHA. Exhilarating! ;)
Sat on the Pirate Ship as well! The queue was moving fast, waited for a short duration only.

The 'Flying' Carousel! FUNNNNN! And windy! Hahaha. Short waiting time too.

The Spaceshot! So high up in the sky! I wondered how high is it.
We sat on the Spaceshot as well! Super super long waiting time! Maybe 2 hours or so? :/
Pretty fun, hahaha but the ride felt like it was over in a moment of seconds. Haha, I guess the most heart racing part was during the first mega drop! Anyway, there has been rumors that an accident in which the woman's scalp/head got ripped off in this particular ride as her long hair was caught when it was going down? Omg scary :/

And wow, the Spaceshot is so much TALLER than the First World Hotel. :O

The Ferris Wheel, which we forsake it to queue for the Spaceshot beside.
The Corkscrew Rollercoaster ride!

The queue for Corkscrew was quite okay, moves relatively fast, compared to The Flying Coaster and the Spaceshot. One time can seat 24 person :)
The track of Corkscrew. There's two 360 degrees turns!
The Corkscrew was fun, but way less scarier as compared to USS Battlestar Galactica, which is faster and more heart racing.

The world of Dinosaurs

LOL at my petrified expression! -__-
Cute tram!

Sunday, Day Two.
We woke up really late, hahaha. As the night before, we decided to have brunch instead. More time for sleeping! :P

Big pot of Bakuteh! Cheap and good!! :D
Yummy!

Coach departed on Sunday in the afternoon. About 1.30pm?
Reached Singapore at about 8 plus at night. :)

Short weekend getaways from the bustling Singapore ;)
